CAN/ACT Volunteer Training Scholarship

Program Description

CAN and ACT logosThe Canucks Autism Network (CAN) and ACT-Autism Community Training recognize CAN volunteers who go above and beyond by awarding four scholarships of up to $500 to be used towards training and professional development opportunities with ACT.

ACT is a not-for-profit society that offers training to individuals interested in supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Workshops and seminars range from single-day to week-long events and operate all throughout BC. Fees to participate range from approximately $80 to $400.

  • Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders (POPARD) - a one-week introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Integrating ABA Methods in Schools: Supporting School Aged Children -  a two-day workshop
  • Picturing Success: Visual Support Strategies for Individuals with ASD - a two-day workshop
  • Social Thinking for Young Children - a two-day workshop

Scholarship applicants for 2017 must have volunteered at least 15 hours with the Canucks Autism Network since January 2016.

The application period for 2017 has passed. Please check back in January 2018 for details on applying for next year's scholarship.
