Below is an outline of the programs we currently offer:

MUltisport Day Camp

The Canucks Autism Network Multisport Day Program is a great opportunity for participants with autism, and their siblings, to try a variety of sports activities! This summer, participants will be given the opportunity to play sports such as, softball, soccer, tennis, bike and physical literacy. We are very excited to offer this opportunity to Canucks Autism Network (CAN) families living on Vancouver Island in order for their child to gain new experiences to sport in a supportive, safe and collaborative setting. I CAN PLAY SOCCER

The purpose of the I CAN Play Soccer program is to teach basic soccer skills to children and youth with autism in a safe and supportive environment. The soccer program in Victoria focuses on skills such as learning to dribble, pass and shoot the ball. This soccer program is offered to participants with autism, and their siblings, between the ages of 5-11 years. I CAN SWIM
The purpose of this I CAN Swim program is to teach swimming and basic water safety skills to participants with autism in a safe and supportive environment. Participants will work on level appropriate skill development, and it is hoped that these skills will assist them to enjoy a lifetime of fun and safe water activities. Swim programs in Victoria and Nanaimo are offered to participants with autism between the ages of 4-15yrs.

I CAN SKATE
The purpose of the I CAN Skate program is to teach skating skills to children and youth with autism in a safe and supportive environment. The Victoria skate program focuses on basic skills such as moving forward, gliding and stopping. Skate programs are offered to participants with autism between the ages of 4-15yrs.

I CAN HAVE PHYSICAL LITERACY
The purpose of the I CAN Have Physical Literacy program is to teach children with autism fundamental movement skills in a safe and supportive environment. Learning fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping and balancing helps children build the confidence necessary for a lifetime of sport and physical activity. Physical literacy programs are offered to participants with autism between the ages of 3-11yrs in Victoria, and 3-9yrs in Nanaimo (beginning Winter 2016).

I CAN Bike day clinics in the cowichan valley

The purpose of the I CAN Bike clinic is to teach children living with autism and their siblings how to ride a bike in a safe and supportive environment. The goal is that the skills developed in this program will enable participants to enjoy bike activities with their peers and families. To learn more about this program, please click here

MULTISPORT PROGRAM

This is a great opportunity for participants with autism, and their siblings, to try a variety of sports activities! This summer, participants will be given the opportunity to play sports such as football, softball, soccer and more. We are very excited to offer this opportunity to CAN families in order for their child to gain new experiences to sport in a supportive, safe and collaborative setting. Family Camp

Each year, the Canucks Autism Network hosts a weekend camp for families living with autism on Vancouver Island. The camp enables Island families to come together and enjoy a weekend full of outdoor and indoor activities in a beautiful camp setting. Additional information about this program is available on the Overnight Camps webpage

FAMILY EVENTS
Many families affected by autism confront barriers when trying to participate in activities in the community. The Canucks Autism Network Family Adventure Series has been designed to help minimize these barriers and offer access to activities that are fun for the whole family. Click here for upcoming family events.

how to Access CANucks autism network Programs 
In order to access any of the above programs, individuals with autism and their families must first complete our online membership registration. This can be done through our registration site.

Once the membership applications are complete, individuals and their families can use the same system to register online for upcoming Canucks Autism Network programs and events at www.canucksautismprograms.ca.
