Accountant

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced, full-cycle Accountant to manage all day-to-day accounting functions, while supporting the Accounting Manager with financial reporting, special projects, and the continuous improvement process.

This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career as they will have the opportunity to take on increasingly challenging responsibilities and will be empowered to make decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting / Finance or related combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of recent related experience in full-cycle accounting
  • Experience in non-for-profit sector accounting is preferred

Senior Manager of HR & Staffing

Full time; Available immediately
Location: Vancouver (hybrid of working from home and office)

About the Position

The Senior Manager of HR & Staffing is a multi-purpose and hand-on leadership role focused in 3 key areas:

1.) Successful operations of the recruitment and staffing function of the HR department to ensure that all open positions are filled by qualified candidates and staff schedules are maintained in accordance with employment and company guidelines

2.) Develop and manage a robust onboarding and employee training program that foster a collaborative team environment and ensures effective, efficient, quality driven program support

3.) Coaching and developing managers and supervisors across the organization to ensure consistency and organizational standards are met.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Program Management or a related field
  • Previous experience in staffing and/or managing the delivery of multi-location programs or services for youth and young adults
  • Knowledge of related legislative requirements, including Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights Act

Staffing Coordinator

Full time; Available immediately
Location: Vancouver (hybrid of working from home and office)

About the Position

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all aspects of part-time program and event staff scheduling such as creating and confirming schedules, maintain current staff scheduling database and resolving staff scheduling issues. The ideal candidate is someone who is a skilled communicator, highly organized, yet flexible, detail-oriented, analytical and enjoys working as a fast-paced rapidly changing team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field with 2-3 years of experience in a busy administrative role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in scheduling a strong asset
  • Experience in sport / recreation industry and understanding of community services sector and/or non-profit sector considered an asset

Show CAN participants the joy of sports! Provide individualized support to children on the autism spectrum in our Active, Multisport, Gymnastics, Hockey, Swim and/or Skate programs. Autism experience not required. Classroom training and ongoing training provided by our Onsite Supervisors.

Weekdays & weekends, hours vary between 8am-6pm (max 6hrs/day)

As part of the CAN Skills Training Employment Program, provide on-the-job support to Autistic youth & adults at their work experience placements. Must be 18 years or older.

Hours vary, daytime and evenings year-round

Represent CAN in your community! Provide general info about our organization and the need for support. At community events, lead our info table activations at fairs, festivals or conferences. At fundraisers, lead fundraising initiatives like 50/50 or raffle sales.
