We will be running a small number of in-person, outdoor programs this summer in the Lower Mainland in order to practice our newly enforced COVID-19 safety protocols. Multiple safety measures will be in place including enhanced cleaning, hand hygiene, and physical distancing to the extent that is possible within our programs.
While we wish we could accommodate more members in other regions, we strongly believe in piloting the enhanced safety procedures with a limited number of participants to ensure we get it right. Like other program providers, we plan to expand our offerings by gradually adding more in-person programs in other regions throughout the next year.
Participants will enjoy a range of outdoor activities to build social connection. This program will be focused on physical activity and games to allow for physical distancing.
- Ages 7-12 (Must be of correct age on program start date)
- Have an autism diagnosis and an active CAN Membership
- Individuals across the autism spectrum are welcome to take part
- Commitment to attend session on a daily basis for the entire week
Access our Summer Sports Activity Storybook to help prepare your child for the program. Activity Storybooks describe activities or situations as well as the expected behaviours in a given context using words and often pictures. Participants can read Activity Storybooks prior to engaging in an activity to help prepare them and build predictability.
