Long Blades Training & Try-It Day (For Coaches)

Training & Try-It events include a workshop for coaches to learn foundational skills followed by an opportunity to practice the newly acquired skills under the guidance and mentorship of the CAN team. This workshop is open to all coaches, sport and rec providers, parents, teachers, etc.

Autism Training | Supporting Positive Behaviour, Oct 26, 1pm-5pm
Work alongside peers to plan for an Intro to Speed Skating with children and youth with autism.
Topics covered:

• Communication Tips
• Teaching/Coaching Tools
• Motivation and Behaviour Support Strategies
• Tips for Successful Inclusion
• Intro to autism

*This workshop is eligible for NCCP and BCRPA Professional Development credits.

Try-It Day | Open to Long Blade Coaches, Oct 26, 5pm-6:30pm
Apply the tips and strategies you learned with the support of Canucks Autism Network staff to guide your interactions with participants.
